Undercover Operation Reveals Cigarettes Are as Easy to Get as Candy


East County students release results of undercover tobacco purchase survey. Present a HUGE thank you card to businesses that did not sell. Encourage all tobacco retailers to participate in training of store employees to abide by the law and learn about the dangerous effects of teen smoking.

Federal, state and local officials Monday issued an annual report on methamphetamine in San Diego County, saying there are fewer people producing the drug here but just as many users.

Officials will explain the hazards, and how to stay safe during summertime activities. Dozens of meth labs were found in San Diego County last year. Meth cookers indiscriminately dump their leftover chemicals in canyons, parks, and open spaces. Although the chance of encountering a meth site is very low, those sites are loaded with toxic and flammable materials.
